A Vocal Odyssey
Meeting with the Spirit of your Voice
3-day retreat with Nessi Gomes in Upstate NY

This is not a singing workshop. What is it? check in here:

“The human voice needs no training; it is already there, finished and perfect as an entity sounding in the ideal world. What it is waiting for is liberation.” --Valborg Werbeck-Svardstrom

The voice is our bridge to the divine, our connection to the prayer we carry. In this group we will reconnect to the simple, playful and natural way of expressing our authentic voice beyond judgments, painful beliefs and limiting conditionings.

The aim of this group is not to become a ‘perfect’ singer or performer - it is about unleashing our raw, natural capacity to celebrate all colours of life through our unique and authentic expression, while tapping into the intuitive and mystical realms of our connection to God through sound.

We will explore all angles of our voice using various tools, while piercing and bringing awareness to all that blocks us from letting our voice simply be. We will discover how singing is not about ‘singing’ - it is in fact about ‘listening’ and expressing effortlessly all that is inside of us, moment to moment.

Logistics:

The retreat will be hosted on a property in an enchanted forest of Upstate NY, Catskills region (Parksville, NY).
Accessible from NYC.  We will organize carpools the week before for all registered participants, if desired.  There is also access via bus or train.
This land is so beautiful, giving you an expansive taste of Nature, the water, the trees, the sounds of the birds and frogs--just another way for us to connect and deepen our prayer.

On the property is a large home, where we will be sleeping and sharing meals, as well as a ceremonial yurt in the forest, where the workshops will be held.

Accommodations:

Community-style, shared sleeping quarters.  There will be various spaces where people will have beds, cots, mattresses etc set up (we can provide, or you can bring your own if you prefer), each accommodating people comfortably.  This will be ‘rustic’ but we will make sure everyone is comfortable and has a personal space to sleep.  Anyone is also welcome to bring a tent to set up on the property, this will deepen your connection to nature and give you a little more privacy if you desire.

There are 4 bathrooms in the house, most with showers/bath.

Sauna also on property--connect with us if you would like to set up a sweat.

Food:

We will provide high-vibe vegetarian meals each day, starting with a dinner Thursday night to welcome and open the circle, 3 meals Saturday, and breakfast & lunch Sunday.

Please let us know ahead of time if you have any food allergies.

Limited space for 20 participants.

About Nessi Gomes
Born on the tiny island of Guernsey (UK), singing and music became Nessi’s way of dealing with challenging life circumstances. From a young age she discovered the ability to transform discomforts and unspoken emotions by exploring sound, and has continued to root herself more and more in the therapeutic value of music.

Nessi’s creative turning point took place four years ago upon settling in the community of PachaMama. The nature of the place has reshaped and deepened her approach towards music, therapy and self-healing.

She have just released her the debut album, and is currently touring Europe both performing her own music as well as leading Voice groups.

Nessi Gomes is a musician with a BA in Creative Expressive Therapies in Music (Derby University, UK, 2008). She also has a Diploma in Group Voice Therapy (British Association of Sound Therapy, Chichester, UK, 2015).
